Kristec is the only sewing machine world wide able to automatically handle and sew loose sheets.
Sheet-fed digital printing systems produce books in the form of a pile of sheets which follow the correct sequence. The pile is loaded manually into the Kristec's infeed hopper. The sheets are collated in groups of two to eight, folded in half so as to form signatures, and forwarded onto a sewer saddle. The signatures are sewn into book blocks which are automatically separated from one another.

The Kristec is also available in-line with digital printing systems. Printed sheets are fed directly into the Kristec's infeed tray (picture on the left).
After the collating, folding and sewing process the motorized Kristec's delivery enables direct transport of sewn book blocks to a back gluing machine (picture on the right).
